Two students who stabbed each other with broken bottle in Lefkosa to face trial for public disturbance
The two international students who injured themselves in a fight in Lefkosa on Tuesday will be tried in court for public disturbance.
The incident between the two international students happened at about 5:45pm on Tuesday on Journalist Kemal Aşık Street, terminal, Lefkosa.
The two people involved in the fight and identified only as A.A.A, 26 and G.E.A, 28, reportedly stabbed and injured each other with a broken beer bottle following an argument that resulted in the fight.
They were taken to the Lefkosa Hospital by an ambulance for treatment and arrested afterwards..
They were taken to court on Wednesday for "Injury and using deadly material, fighting, and disturbance." Police told the court that one of the suspect was drunk.
Police said suspect 1 has a student status in the country while suspect 2 had no legal status in the country.
Suspect 1 was released on bail and banned from going abroad, report to the police once a week, deposit 6,000 TL in cash, and bring a TRNC citizen to sign a personal bail fund of 100,000 TL. The second suspect was held in prison for a period not exceeding 2 months.
