Again, police mistook luggage full of clothes for a bomb threath

For the second time in a week, the Turkish Cypriot police has responded to a bomb threat which all turned out to be bags filled with clothes.

At around 11:30am on Monday, the police were alerted by a suspicious package placed at the Ku─čulu Park at the Kyrenia Gate.

Police teams and bomb disposal experts quickly placed the scene and region under security measures and investigations.

Police evaluated the report and then moved to detonate the suspicious suitcase and handbag only to discover that they will filled with clothes.

No evidence of a bomb was found. After the investigations at the scene, the police announced that there were various clothes in the suspicious suitcase and handbag.

The same scenario also placed out last week Monday in Lefkosa when police were alerted to a suspicious suitcase found in front of a school in Lefkosa. It also turned out that the suitcase was filled with clothes.
