10 People held for trying to enter south Cyprus illegally

A total of 10 people, two of whom are 'human smugglers', were arrested for trying to enter south Cyprus illegally. 

They were caught and arrested by a police team carrying out control at Akıncılar road at about 11:30pm on Sunday, February, 27.

They were taken to a court in Lefkosa on Monday on charges human smuggling

Police said they were found in two cars with 6 foreigners in one car and another two in a second car. They were all arrested including the drivers of the vehicles. 

Police said the suspects paid the smugglers 25 euros to help them get to south Cyprus illegally

They were detained for 3 days for more investigation.
