Damaged caused by accident is worth 150,000 TL

On Sunday, we reported about a 24-year-old international student who was involved in a car accident in Gonyeli in which the car somersaulted after clashing with a traffic camera, now it has been revealed that the damaged caused by the accident is worth 150,000 TL. 

The accident happened at about 10:20pm on Saturday on Atatürk Street, close to Biçentürk restaurant in Gonyeli, when a male student reportedly lost control of the vehicle and in the process ran over a speed limit camera on the side of the road which caused the car to land on its roof.

He was rushed to the Lefkosa General Hospital where he was being treated for his injuries.

In it's report, police said he was driving carelessly when he lost control of the vehicle and went off the road and then hit a tree before before crashing unto a speed limit camera by the side of the road. 

He was arrested after receiving treatment and taken to court on the charge of "careless driving.

Police noted that there was an estimated damage of 100.000 TL caused to the fixed image radar system flash mast and radar cabin belonging to the Highways Department, 50,000 TL to a vehicle with license plate number ZMH 125, 1,000 TL to the concrete frame surrounding the manhole cover of the Gönyeli Municipality and 1,000 TL to the pavement stones.

The police stated that the limitations imposed under the 3rd party insurance law regarding the damages to the property are 150,000 Turkish liras, and that the exact damage determination of the fixed image radar system in her case is 600,000 Turkish lira in the investigation made by Paralik LTD. 

Evaluating the testimony given in court, the judge ordered that the suspect be released on bail, banned from going abroad, report to the police station once a week and deposited a cash guarantee of 15,000 TL.

  1. I dont know why my friend should pay 50,000tl for the car which the car is a rental and should be fuĺly license. Why the police ar so injustice to student.
