Public transport Unions in TRNC to strike on Monday

The TRNC public transport unions has announced that they will stop public transportation throughout the island on Monday, March, 14 to protest the hike in fuel prices.

The unions made the announcement on Saturday.

The joint statement of the Contemporary Public Vehicles Operators Association and the Public Transport Association is as follows:

“We, as two associations in the public transport sector; We announce to the public that we have decided to stop public transportation throughout the island as of Monday, March 14, 2022, by providing a consensus that it is not possible for us to perform public transportation after the heavy price hikes in fuel.
