Students to face trial for sexually assaulting a woman in Lefkosa

A university is currently facing trial in court after he was arrested for sexually assaulting a woman in Lefkosa.

The student only identified as A.N, an African was arrested on Thursday, March, 10 with a pending police warrant and taken to a court in Lefkosa on Friday on charges of sexual assault.

Police said the suspect committed the crime in February in Lefkosa but it was reported to the police on Thursday, March, 10 which led to his arrest.

The student who was found to be legal in the island was released on bail and banned from going abroad. He is to report to the nearest police station, once in two weeks, and deposit a bail fee of 5,000TL.

He will be tried in the future.
