Cyprus hit by 3 earthquakes on Tuesday night

Three consecutive earthquakes occurred around the island of Cyprus on Tuesday night. 

According to the measurements recorded by the Kandilli Observatory, the earthquakes with a magnitude of 2.7, 4.7, and 4.0 were felt throughout the island.

According to the Boğaziçi University Kandilli Observatory and Earthquake Research Institute, the earthquake of 4.7 magnitude occurred at the epicenter of the Mediterranean region at around 11:11pm on Tuesday.

The epicenter was about 2 km south-southwest of Paphos.

The tremor occurred at a depth of about 10 km, and light shaking was felt in parts of Cyprus, particularly in coastal Limassol which is near the epicenter.

The quakes were detected slightly off the shores of Girne in the north and Paphos in the south in the Mediterranean Sea.

No damages were reported.
