Drunk driver hit and injured 2 pedestrians in Famagusta
Two pedestrians were injured after a drunk driver lost control of his vehicle in Famagusta on Saturday.
The incident happened at around 1:30am on the Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) campus on Saturday.
According to police report, the driver of the vehicle, a Turkish Cypriot identified as, Fatih Bulut, 30, lost control of the steering while driving on the campus and in the process hit the road side curb whi9ch caused it to climbed the pavement, hitting a streetlamp and two pedestrians who were walking on the pavement.
The two pedestrians were injured in the accident. They were taken to Famagusta State Hospital for treatment. One of them was taken to the Accident and Emergency department, while the other sustained a fractured right leg.
The driver of the vehicle who was found to have 130 mg of alcohol on his breath was arrested.
