Foreigner arrested for forcing young woman into prostitution for money

A foreigner has been arrested and detained in Lefkosa for allegedly forcing a woman into prostitution for money.

The suspect was arrested on Wednesday, April, 13 in Lefkosa.

He was taken to a court in Lefkosa on Thursday on charges of forced detention, sexual violation, and forced prostitution.

Police officer who testified in court, said the suspect, 33 and his lover between the period of March, 27 and April, 13, forced a young woman from Nigeria who came to the island for study to have sex with 6 black male individuals whose identity are yet unknown for money.

Police stated that the suspect was arrested with a pending warrant.  

The police said the suspect's house was searched on the same day with a a court order. Two desktop computers were found in the apartment of suspect and were taken as evidence.

Police said, 1 woman whose name is still known, and 6 men whose names have not been determined yet are being sought.  

Police said there are statements to be taken and that the issue requires extensive investigation

The suspect was was ordered to be detained for 1 day.
