Student stabs roommate in university dormitory in Lefkosa, claim it was a mistake

A student of the Near East University in Lefkosa reportedly stabbed his room mate, causing him serious injury.

The suspect stabbed and injured his roommate with a 3 cm knife at the university student dormitory on Friday, April, 15.

He was arrested and brought to court on Saturday. The knife was taken as an exhibit.

The injured student was rushed to the NEU hospital in Girne where he is currently receiving treatment. Police said his life is not in danger.

Police said the complaint and the suspect voluntarily testified that the incident was an accident, but the police demanded that the suspect be detained for 3 days for investigation to be carried out on the incident.
