Drunk driver injures 3 in Famagusta

A 20-year-old man who was drunk while driving hit and injured three people in an accident that happened in Famagusta.

The accident happened on on Mimar Sinan Street, within the EMU campus in Famagusta  at around 1:30am on Saturday when Kazmaier Ali Rıza, 20 was driving on the Dipkarpaz-Yenierenköy main road.

While driving fast and dangerously towards the south side of the road, he lost control of the vehicle and veered off the road uncontrollably, colliding with three people walking on the sidewalk. The vehicle came to a stop after crashing into the cypress tree on the side of the road.

Aleyna Şengürle, 22, Abdulmalik Adeolu Molumo, 21 and Mohammad Mahdi, 23 were injured in the accident. They were taken to Famagusta State Hospital for treatment.

Police said the driver of the vehicle was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident.

Abdulmalik Adeolu Molumo was observed in the Surgical Service with a diagnosis of fracture in the shinbone of the right foot, and Mohammad Mahdi in the left leg shin; It was noted that Aleyna Şengürle and vehicle driver Kazmaier Ali Rıza, who were slightly injured in the accident, were discharged after their treatment, and the vehicle driver Kazmaier Ali Rıza was arrested.
