Mask and test requirement will be lifted as of June 1

After receiving a vote of confidence in the parliament on Wednesday, TRNC new Prime Minister, Ünal Üstel announced that as of June 1, the mask and test requirement for Covid-19 will be lifted. 

Speaking to BRT after the government received a vote of confidence, Üstel said that they would do their best to overcome the problems in the economy.

Üstel stated that the country is in trouble, that there are great difficulties and that it has reached the border of hunger, and that the country can be taken to better days with unity, solidarity and cooperation with the deputies elected by the people.

He said they will work to increase the welfare of the country and people through cooperation with the Motherland. 

Noting that the implementation of the financial protocol signed with Turkey will also be on the agenda, Prime Minister Üstel also stated that they will announce the low-interest loan package in the coming days so that young people can have a job and a house in the country.

Announcing that the mask requirement for testing and protection from the disease related to the Covid-19 pandemic will be lifted after June 1st, Prime Minister Üstel pointed out that the number of Covid 19 cases has decreased in the country as well as all over the world.

Üstel stated that they will carry out the practices in the whole world and in the Motherland in the  TRNC in order to turn the economic wheels .

-Entry into the country through land border gates will be facilitated

Stating that they will make it easier to enter the country through the land border gates, Üstel said, "My first job on Saturday will be to check all the border gates and make up for the deficiencies, and we will do our best for this as soon as possible."

Üstel noted that the problems on the highways will also be overcome, and road drawings and 3,000 signboards will be renewed in cooperation with 28 municipalities.

He stated that a tender will be made for the completion of the Güzelyurt and Girne hospitals, and that Lefkoşa Dr. He said that some parts of Burhan Nalbantoğlu State Hospital will be moved to the Emergency Hospital, so that better service will be provided.

Üstel stated that measures will be taken to ensure that patients do not suffer from drug shortages anymore.
