TRNC health committee ease Covid-19 restrictions, scraps compulsory mask rule
The TRNC Higher Committee for Infectious Diseases on Friday announced the easing of Covid-19 restrictions following the significant improvement in the epidemiological situation in the country.
According to the latest decision, individuals will no longer be required to wear face masks at public spaces, indoors and public transport unless displaying cold-like symptoms.
The rule includes schools.
Students will also not be required to carry out weekly tests.
The committee however recommends that individuals in risk groups above the age of 60, or with underlying health issues and oppressed immune systems continue, as well as the unvaccinated to wear face masks in closed spaces.
All indoor spaces (classrooms, restaurants, gyms) should be well ventilated.
