Cost of living for June in the TRNC is 9.54 percent

The Statistical Institute has announced the cost of living rate as 9.54 percent for the month of June.

Accordingly, the inflation rate has reached 56.76 percent since December and increased by 110.42 percent over the last year.

The Statistical Institute has announced the cost of living rate as 9.54 percent for the month of June, pointing out that 110.42 per cent increase has been experienced compared to December of the previous year.

The highest increase was observed in the Transportation Group with 21.68 per cent compared to the previous month.

15.28 per cent increase has been reported in Restaurants and Hotels group, 7.79 per cent in Various Goods and Services Group, 7.66 percent in the Entertainment and Culture Group, 7.33 percent in the Clothing and Shoes Group and 7.33 percent in the Furniture Group and 6.79 percent increase in Home Appliances and Home Care Services Group.

5.89 percent increase has been reported in the Housing, Water, Electricity, Gas and Other Fuels Group, 4.94 percent in the Food and Non-Alcoholic Beverages Group, 4.30 percent in the Communication Group, 3.98 percent in the Education Group, 3.13 percent in the Health Group, and 0.70 percent in the Alcoholic Beverages and Tobacco Group.

Compared to the previous month, the average prices of 562 items included in the index increased and the average prices of 32 items decreased.

The first three goods with the highest price increase were lemons, wood stocks and vaccine purchase fee for pets.
