Ugandan student racially attacked in south Cyprus

Another African has been attacked by a man in southern Cyprus in what is seen as been racially motivated.

A 27-year-old student from Uganda was on Thursday, July, 28 attacked by a 30-year-old man from Romania in Limassol.

Report say the the attack which happened just after mid night on Thursday occurred in the center of Limassol when the Greek Cypriot man who was intoxicated, attacked the 27-year-old Ugandan student.

The police quickly intervened. The student was injured on the head and was lifted in an ambulance to the hospital.

The 30-year-old man was arrested and according to information and testimonies he attacked the student because of the color of his skin.

An arrest warrant for causing bodily harm is expected for the 30-year-old.

The student received first aid and left the hospital.
