Young man deported back to TRNC from Istanbul for traveling with fake visa

A young man who left the TRNC via the Ercan with a fake visa has been sent back to the TRNC from Istanbul, Turkey after it was found that he used a fake visa.

The suspect, identified only as H.H.M was sent back to the TRNC on Friday, July, 22 and taken to a court in Lefkosa on Sunday, July, 24 for trial.

Police officer who testified in court said the suspect was involved in the crimes of "Making forged Official Documents, putting Forged Documents into use and Supplying Registration with False Statement".

Police said on Friday, July 22, 2022, the suspect presented a Belgium visa, which he had previously obtained as a fake, to the ground services officer at Ercan Airport in the processing committing the crimes of putting fake official documents into use and obtaining records fraudulently.

The police stated that the suspect was identified at Istanbul Airport and sent back on the same day, and that the investigation initiated regarding the issue continues, the statements to be taken and where the suspect obtained the forged documents will be investigated, and demanded that he be detained in the police for 3 days in the first place.
