Two teenagers injured in accident in Alayköy

A 17-year-old boy with out a driver license and a passenger were injured in an accident in Alayköy.

Police said the accident happened at around 5:15pm in Alayköy, on Kemal Deniz Caddesi, on Saturday.

Police said a 17-year-old boy with out a driver license was driving towards the south side of the road when he lost control of the vehicle and entered a busy area along the road. The vehicle's engine caught fire in the process.

Police said the accident happened as a result of carelessness by the driver. 

The 17-year-old driver and a 14-year-old passenger got stuck in the car and were rescued by the help of the fire department.

They sustained some injuries and were taken to the Lefkosa State Hospital.
