Double rainbow appears over Buckingham Palace just before death of Queen Elizabeth II is announced

Double Rainbow Over Buckingham Palace Moments Before Queen’s Death Was Announced
A poignant double rainbow appeared over Buckingham Palace moments before the Queen’s death was announced.

All eyes have been focussed on Her Majesty’s home north of the border at Balmoral after the Palace gave an update saying the 96-year-old was being monitored over ‘concerns’ for her health.

Crowds also congregated at the heart of the monarchy in central London awaiting further updates on our longest-reigning sovereign’s condition.

At 6.30pm, the Palace announced that the Queen ‘died peacefully at Balmoral’.

Many of those gathered outside the gates hoped the phenomenon, which appeared after dark clouds and rainfall gave way to bursts of sunshine, was a sign of good news to come.

Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II has died after 70 years on the throne, with her death announced by Buckingham Palace on September 8, 2022.

She died at the age of 96 at her home in Balmoral, with her son, the now King Charles, and daughter Princess Anne by her side.

The flag at Buckingham Palace was lowered to half mast as the news broke at 6.30pm. A number of those huddled outside the gates began crying and taking pictures as a single helicopter circled the skies above.
