Man beat girl friend in Lefkosa for not cooking for him

A man who assaulted his girlfriend because she didn't cook will be tried in court for assault.

The suspect identified only as TB was arrested on Monday September, 5 for beating his girlfriend on the grounds that she "didn't cook."

The suspect was taken to court on charges of assault.

Police in a court statement said the suspect, battered his girlfriend, with whom he lived with, on Sunday, September 4, in his residence in Lefkosa, as a result of an argument that broke out on the grounds that she "didn't cook for him".

The incident was reported to the police on Monday leading to his arrest per pending order. 

The victim underwent a physical examination in the Emergency Department of Burhan Nalbantoğlu State Hospital and a doctor's report was obtained that she had marks of assault and force on her body.

Police said there was a witness in the environment where the incident took place.

Police said the investigation was partially completed, but that the suspect was no longer able to influence, and that he be given appropriate condition until their case could be heard.

Evaluating the testimony given in court, the judge released the suspect on bail on the condition that he is prohibited from leaving the country for the purpose of being present at the trial, report to the nearest police station one day a week, deposits a cash guarantee of 8,000TL and bring two guarantors from the TRNC to sign a bond of 150,000TL.
