New Ercan Airport terminal will be inaugurated on November 15

TRNC President Ersin Tatar has announced that the new Ercan Airport terminal will be inaugurated on November 15 with the participation of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

On the Cyprus issue, Tatar said that during his visit to New York, he would emphasize the acceptance of sovereign equality and equal international status adding that an agreement in Cyprus would only be possible with a two-state formula.

Speaking at an event organized by the Karadeniz Cultural Association on Sunday, President Ersin Tatar gave the news that the new terminal building and runway at Ercan Airport would be inaugurated on November 15 in line with the Republic Day celebrations with the participation of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.Tatar said that large-bodied aircraft will also land at the new airport. He pointed out that with the introduction of regular flights, relations in tourism, business and higher education will be further strengthened.

Regarding his upcoming visit to New York where he will hold contacts on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly, Tatar said that he will be emphasizing the sovereign equality and equal international status of the two states in Cyprus and the fact that an agreement in Cyprus  can only be possible on the basis of a two-state formula.

“We are looking ahead. It should be the desire and wish of all of us to ensure that a strong TRNC, which is in full cooperation with the prosperous and developed Türkiye in the Eastern Mediterranean, can better serve its people. In order to achieve all these, our culture, customs and traditions, our love for the flag and our commitment to Anatolia are the conditions for us to look to the future with hope. I would like to thank everyone who works for the national cause, our unity and solidarity,” the President added.
