Offensive fowl smell is from a farm in south Cyprus

Report coming out of south Cyprus claimed that the offensive smell that overwhelmed Lekfosa in the last few days was from a farm in the south of Cyprus.

According to report, the source of the foul odor in Lefkosa was the manure that a Greek Cypriot farmer threw on his field in the buffer zone.

The Haravgi newspaper wrote that the source of the foul odor heard in the last few days in “Kaymaklı”, “Ahlacia” (Entertainment) and other areas in the south of Nicosia was the manure that a Greek Cypriot farmer poured on his field in the buffer zone, behind the “Sopas” region.

The news also claimed that though the Greek Cypriot farmer did not know that it could cause such a bad smell, he received instructions from the United Nations (UN) to make deep plowing in his field in order to reduce the smell.
