Is the TRNC now the TRC?

Few days after Turkiye's vice president announced that Turkiye has changed the name of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), the Turkish Cypriot Minister of Foreign Affairs, has adopted the new name.

Turkish Cypriot Minister of Foreign Affairs, in a statement on social media on Sunday, Feb. 5, deleted the name TRNC and instead use Turkish Republic of Cyprus (TRC).

"The guarantor of our homeland and the existence of the Turkish military are indispensable.""Long live the strong Turkish Republic, the strong Turkish Republic of Cyprus," Ertuğruloğlu said.
