Man who scammed victim of 8000 on Facebook over the sales of a bike have been living illegally in the TRNC for 530 days!

It has been discovered by the police that a man who sold a bike to a buyer on Facebook but refused to deliver same and obtaining money fraudulently has been living in the TRNC illegally for 530 days.  

The suspect, an African identified only as SSG was arrested and taken to court on Tuesday, March, 14 on charges of obtaining money by fraud.

The suspect opened a shopping page named "Mobilezone 247 page" on Facebook and where he presented himself as an "employee." He then posted an electric bike for sale. He was contacted by a buyer who paid a total of 8,000TL twice to him for the bike but he refused to deliver the bike to the buyer.

The suspect was identified in Lefkosa and arrested following a complaint.

The suspect who was ordered to be detained for 3 days for the purpose of investigation on Tuesday was brought back to court again on Friday.

Police told the court that the suspect was found to have been living illegally in the country for 530 days.

The court ordered that he be detained in prison for a period of not more than 2 months until trial.
