Three teenagers who who broke into a petrol station in Lefkosa and stole from it have been detained and will face trial.

The suspects, two male and a female, who are Turkish Cypriot, identified only as EB, 18, EC, 18 and YE were arrested and taken to a court in Lefkosa on Thursday on charges of breaking into a shop, theft, intentional damage and unauthorized property entry.

Police officer who testified in court about the incident said, that all 3 suspects who resides in the same place in Lefkosa led by YE went to Şht Colonel Karaoğlanoğlu street at around 4:15am on Wednesday, April, 26, 2023 and unlawfully entered a petrol station by damaging the lock part of the aluminum entrance door with a screwdriver to gain entrance into the shop.

They stole 26,300 Turkish Liras kept in a safe drawer and an Iphone 8 plus brand phone and then fled from the scene of the incident.

They were later arrested and ordered to be detained in court for a period of one day as investigation into the incident continue.
