Serial thief and friend caught with several stolen electronic devices in Kyrenia

Several electronic devices were recovered from two young men who went on a stealing spree in Kyrenia.

The suspects named only as AWK, 24 and BM, 24, were arrested on Monday following an investigation carried out into the theft. 

Police said they broke into six different houses and shops between the period of April 1 and May 14 in Kyrenia.

According to police statement, an investigation into one of the suspects named AWK revealed that in July 2022, he stole 3 laptop computers, game consoles, digital cameras, mobile phones, tablet computers from a residence; In April 2023, he stole various auto spare parts from a shop; between May 10-11, he stole laptop computer, tablet computer, keyboard cover, 2 satellite receiver devices, 2 mobile phones, and various grocery products from a supermarket; On April 13, he stole a cell phone, laptop and DVR camera recorder from a shop; On May 10, he stole a vehicle ignition key from a residence and started the vehicle parked in the garden of the residence with the said ignition key and left the scene; On May 14, it was found that he had stolen mobile phones, tablet computers, laptops and various electronic devices from a shop.

Police said BM was arrested after he was found to be connected with the issue.
