Turkish woman steals items worth 4,569 TL from in Erülkü Supermarket

A young Turkish Cypriot woman will face trial in court after she was accused of stealing various products worth 4,569 TL from in Erülkü Supermarket located on the Lefkosa -Famagusta highway. 

The suspect named only as CA stole the items at around 4:30pm on Monday, May, 22. She was arrested and taken to court on Thursday on charges of theft.

Police said she stole various products worth 4,569 TL which were taken from the apparel and cosmetics section of Erülkü Supermarket.

Police said the suspect who went to the market for shopping left the market without making any payment at the cash register. 

She had hidden the stolen items in a black sports bag that she came with it.

Police said she gave a statement voluntarily and that some of the products were found during the search of her house in Lefkosa and were taken as evidence.

She was released on bail, banned from going abroad, deposit a cash guarantee of 4000 TL, bring a surety to sign a bail-bond of 75,000 TL, and report to the police one day in a week.
