Iranian citizen caught with fake Belgian passport at Ercan Airport

Immigration officers at Ercan airport have arrested an Iranian citizen who tried to exit the country with a fake Belgian passport. 

The man named only as PPK was about leaving the island enroute to Düsseldorf, German via Istanbul at around 2:00am on Monday, Nov., 20 when it was discovered during immigration procedure that he was holding a fake Belgian passport.

Police said the Belgian passport was issued in the name of Eric Henri.

Police said the suspect who was a tourist in the TRNC was arrested and investigation launched into how he got it.

He was detained by the court for 3 days for more investigations to be carried out.
