Russian government hackers penetrate DNC’s database, stole opposition research on Donald Trump

US: The Democratic National Committee’s database has been hacked and opposition research on Donald Trump stolen by a Russian government hackers according to report published by the Washington Post on Tuesday.
The New York Post reported that DNC officials and security experts say the hackers were able to read all emails and chats in the hacked system.
The report added that some of the hackers had been in the DNC system for a year.
They were immediately removed from the computer system last weekend.
DNC chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz says the party’s been trying to “quickly” fix the problem.
“The security of our system is critical to our operation and to the confidence of the campaigns and state parties we work with. … When we discovered the intrusion, we treated this like the serious incident it is … Our team moved as quickly as possible to kick out the intruders and secure our network,” Wasserman Schultz said in a statement.
The Russians hackers also targeted Hillary Clinton’s campaign, Trump’s campaign, and various political committees.
It is not known if the hackers were successful in gaining access into any other possible target.
