Pokemon Go player kills one, injures another in Japan

Japan: A female pedestrian has been killed and another seriously wounded in a car accident after a 39-year-old man playing Pokemon Go game while driving hit them on Tuesday in western Japan city of Tokushima said authorities.

Japanese police on Wednesday said the fatal accident was the first be connected with the reality mobile game in Japan since its release in the country last month.

One of the victims, a woman in her early 70s, died of a spinal injury after she was hit by the truck while the other woman has been hospitalized. 

According to a report by Kyodo News agency, the farmer was arrested after his vehicle hit the two women on a road in the city of Tokushima on the south-western island of Shikoku.

The man told the police that he was not paying attention as he was "playing the Pokemon Go game" while driving.

Pokemon Go game involves players using the application to search for Pokemon around real life geographical locations.
