Convicted paedophile ex footballer Adam Johnson marks first year in prison with no visits from friends or family

Ex England and Sunderland star, Adam Johnson, who was convicted last year for child sex offences is set to mark his first year behind bars without any visits from his family members, ex-teammates or friends.

Johnson, 29 who lost his latest appeal, barely a week ago was jailed for six years, 12 months ago after being convicted of sexually touching a besotted 15-year-old female fan.

The shamed footballer was all by himself in Moorland Jail in Doncaster on Friday - because only lawyers can enter on this day.

His double application to be given permission to launch an appeal against his conviction and jail term was dismissed last week by three judges at the High Court in London, after it was previously rejected by a single judge.

According to a report by The Sun, Johnson will reportedly be put on a suicide watch for fear he doesn't commit suicide.

Johnson’s trial last year heard that the he kissed and touched a girl sexually in his Range Rover in a secluded spot in County Durham to which he admitted to kissing the girl, but denied that he sexually touched her in an intimate area.

He still has 5 more years to stay in jail, which will effectively end his football career.
