Transit Visa travel issue in North Cyprus

Exams are over, and it's going to be a long long summer holiday and as usual, many students here in Cyprus will be making the trip back home.

There has been series of conflicting reports making the rounds recently regarding the necessary procedure to obtain a traveling ticket/documents with some of the reports alleging that anyone who wishes to leave North Cyprus must first obtain a transit visa to Turkey. We have gone round to gather some few necessary information that might be important to you as regards this subject.

From the reports we gathered so far, the issue of obtaining a transit visa to Istanbul, Turkey before heading to your country of destination only affects those traveling with Emirate, Atlas Global, Pegasus or Egypt Air (For these one might need a transit visa before connecting your next flight)

So far, the majority of people that have been affected by this issue are especially Zimbabweans. But it also applies to all foreign students on the island.

Also one might not need a transit visa if your connecting flight must first land at the Ataturk International Airport, Istanbul.

*Those traveling with Turkish Air are exempted from the stress says airport officials.

Note that;
A transit passenger is a passenger who stops over for no more than 24 hours at a midpoint between the departure and destination points and then continues on his or her journey, whether with the same airline or a different one.
Please take note and tell others about it.

*Any one with useful information regarding this issue, should please feel free to share... This might be helpful to someone out there.

(We will update you with more information as we continue to make inquires).
