Manchester City set for transfer ban

Manchester City are set for a transfer ban if the story by The Sun is anything to go by. 

The Sun on Friday carried an exclusive that says that Premier League champions Manchester City are set to be hit by a transfer ban for two windows for breaching FIFA’s rules on signing minors. 

The report says the decision could come in the next couple of weeks and will be similar to the one that was issued to Chelsea. That will put pay to any plans from Pep Guardiola to spend big on his defence and central midfield.  

***: This is a serious issue clubs should be punished accordingly. For too long big clubs have flaunted the rules surrounding signing players and now at last it appears as if they are being punished. However FIFA still need to look at the way the rules are enforced, the punishments they currently dish out do not seem to have long-term consequences.
