Paul Pogba wants £500,000-a-week to stay at Manchester United whilst PSG are ready to meet the wage demands of David De Gea.

Pogba wants £500,000-a-week to stay at United
We begin with an exclusive from The Sun which says that midfielder Paul Pogba wants a new contract worth £500,000-a-week to stay at Manchester United. The club have reportedly begun talks with the World Cup winner in order to fend off interest from Real Madrid but they are at the mercy of agent Mino Raiola who is aware of interest in his client as well as desperation at United’s end. He therefore wants Pogba to be earning on par with Alexis Sanchez.

***: This could be a massive summer for United. You really do worry that they are either going to end up losing a couple of their key players (see below story) or paying them massive wages. They have to make sure whatever they do is the right call, which is easier said than done. For reference in this situation keeping Pogba is the right call…

PSG ready to meet De Gea demands
We move to a report from The Independent which says that PSG are prepared to meet the wage demands of Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea. The Spaniard is about to enter the final year of his contract and wants to become the highest paid player at United which would command a wage of around £350,000-a-week. United are reluctant to go that high but PSG’s interest could force their hand. De Gea is reportedly not as open to a move to Paris as team-mate Ander Herrera, who is thought to be close to joining the French champions on a free transfer.

***: United have really dropped the ball on a couple of their key contract situations at the moment there is none bigger than De Gea. He is one of the best keepers in the world and United need to do whatever they can in order to keep him. For a 28-year-old goalkeeper with plenty of gas left in the tank £350,000-a-week feels like a relatively cheap price to pay. Of course we feel it our place to point out the disparity between the first two stories as to the highest earner situation at United… Believe who you like!
