A 28-year-old Cameroonian asylum seeker in south Cyprus was found dead with multiple stab wounds in the early hours of Sunday at Nicosia’s central bus station.

According to a report by Greek Cypriot police, a fight among foreign citizens broke out at Aristokyprou Street in the old part of Nicosia.

The police were informed that there was a man lying in a pool of blood at Solomou Square at about 3:00am on Sunday morning.

Police found him dead at about 3:30am

The victim was transferred by ambulance to the Nicosia general hospital, where his death was confirmed on arrival.

Police are investigating what appears to be murder in light of drug-related differences and were trying to establish his identity.
