Pakistan national who went to renew work permit arrested for not having a residence permit
A Pakistan national living and working in the TRNC has been arrested after he approached the immigration office for renewal of work permit.
Jahan Veb, from Pakistan, has been in the country for a year without a resident permit and works for Kascon Construction Company
He was arrested and detained on Wednesday when he went to the immigration office to find out how he could renew his revoked work permit.
Police say he was arrested for living in the country illegally.
He was taken taken to a court in Girne on Wednesday and given a two day detention order for investigation to be carried out.
