Car involved in deadly accident in Alsancak, man dies in two car collision in Geçitkale

An accident that caused a vehicle to somersault at Alsancak on Saturday happened as a result of careless driving, police said.

The accident happened at about 7:00pm on Saturday when the driver of the vehicle lost control of the wheel causing the vehicle to somersault.

No one was injured in the accident.

In a similar incident on Friday, June, 21 at about 11:00am, a man was killed after the vehicle he was driving in collided with another vehicle on the Geçitkale-Tatlısu highway.

The driver of the two cars who sustained minor injuries were taken to the hospital for treatment after which they were arrested and detained by the Famagusta police following the incident.
