Man trying to exit the TRNC using another person's passport caught at Ercan
An African has been arrested and detained for trying to exit the TRNC with a passport belonging to someone else.
The accused was at the Ercan airport in North Cyprus on Friday, August, 16 when attempting to leave the country.
Police investigation revealed that he was using a passport belonging to his brother. He was arrested and taken to a court in Lefkosa on Saturday, August, 17.
Police prosecutor told the court that, the accused, a Cameroonian was found impersonating another person by using someone's else passport.
The accused is said to have also violated a forbidden military zone by crossing into the TRNC illegally from south Cyprus in May, 2019.
The real owner of the passport had entered the TRNC in February, 29, 2019.
