Student caught red handed while trying to steal in a house in Çatalköy

A student who allegedly broke into a house in Çatalköy to rob was caught red handed by the occupants of the house.

The incident happened at about 4:30 am on Saturday.

The 27-year-old intruder allegedly entered the house through the balcony and went straight to the bedroom. 

He was caught by the owner of the house when he was about to steal a bag on the chair.

He was delivered to the police following the incident and then taken to court.

The suspect to the court that he was innocent and was trying to find his way when he entered the house.

I have been a student in Cyprus for 3 years. I got a new house in Karaoğlanoğlu. I accidentally went to Çatalköy when I wanted to walk around at night. I've never been to Catalkoy before. I saw a house with the light on. I went to that house to find my way and ask for help, am innocent, he said in court.
