90 people arrested for disobeying government order to remain at home in north Cyprus

No fewer than 90 people who flouted a partial curfew order issued by the TRNC authorities on Sunday have been arrested on Monday and Tuesday.

Turkish Cypriot police on Tuesday announced that over 90 people who violated the curfew will be prosecuted.

Despite the fact that a partial curfew was declared by the Council of Ministers on 22.03.2020, under Chapter 156 Curfew, as of 23.03.2020, a total of 14 people in the country were arrested during inspections. It has been determined that they violated the prohibition. The aforementioned persons were arrested and the investigation is continuing, a police statement in Turkish read on Monday.

Several other offenders were also arrested and will be prosecuted.
