Maya medicine healer burned to death by villagers in Guatemala

A 'Maya healer', who had  agreed to conduct herbal medicine research  with British scientists has been burned to death in Guetemala, after he was accused of witchcraft by the local people. 

The murder took place in Guatemala, a country in Central America. The villagers said he was found performing rituals on a grave.

The 56-year-old man’s hands were tied and burned alive in the village square.

It is reported in the country that he had agreed to work with British scientists and researchers in the country against the wishes of the villagers .

The President of Guatemala has instructed prosecutors to open an investigation into this case .
