President of the National Association of Nigerian Students-Turkish Zone, secure scholarships for 17 Nigerian students in GAU

The president of the National Association of Nigerian Students, NANS Turkish Zone, Comrade Gideon Jude has taken up an initiative called #BACK2SCHOOL aimed at returning students whose education has been halted due to financial reasons and such.

The new initiative is in line with the association's commitment led by Comrade Gideon Jude to ensure the welfare of Nigerian students in the region through partnerships.

Through the initiative, the Association was able to sign a protocol with the owner and chancellor of Girne American University, GAU, Serhat Akpınar on Monday, a move that secured scholarships for 17 Nigerian students.

The GAU Chancellor was happy to welcome the President and his team as he pledges to support the association.

He also has regards for the relationship that NANS-TR ZONE have with him and the University. He further stated that the African community is one of the major contributors to the island and the University. 

The Association is currently liaising with the university's Registrar office to help determine the allocation of the scholarships to students who have missed a lot of semesters.
