Five new cases of coronavirus found in North Cyprus on Friday

Five new cases of covid-19 were detected in Northern Cyprus on Friday which brings the total number of cases there so far to 196.

TRNC Minister of Health Ali Pilli in an announcement stated that 2,084 tests were carried out in the last 24 hours and 5 positive cases were encountered.

Pilli said that two of the positive cases came to the TRNC by air, one by sea and two other cases were local cases.

The Minister noted that the local cases came as a result of the resumption of flights to the outside world.

They have started receiving treatment at the State Hospital Quarantine Service in Lefkosa. 

One person was discharged from the hospital after completing treatment. 

He said random tests have started to be carried out in the country of which 100 were performed today.
