TRNC presidential election: Ersin Tatar and Mustafa Akıncı through to second round

TRNC presidential election has been announced following conclusion of the election on Sunday.  

According to results announced on Sunday night, UBP candidate Ersin Tatar and independent candidate Mustafa Akıncı are through to the second round of the presidential race after securing the two highest votes.

According to official result, of 738 ballot boxes received, Tatar received 32.35% of the vote and Akinci with 29.84%.  

On the other hand, CTP candidate Tufan Erhürman finished third in the election race with 21.68% of the votes.

Kudret Özersay, one of the independent candidates, received 5.74%, the YDP candidate Erhan Arıklı 5.36%, Serdar Denktaş 4.20%, the other candidates' voting distribution was as follows: Arif Salih Kırdağ 0.25%, Fuat Çiner 0.30%, Alpan Uz 0.14%, Ahmet Boran 0.07%, Mustafa Reach 0.06%.  

Participation in the election is 58.21% with 58.21%. 115 thousand voters.

The second round will be held on Sunday October, 18.
