Two students arrested with more than a kilogram of cannabis-type drugs in Famagusta

Two students were arrested with more than a kilogram of cannabis-type drugs in 3 different operations carried out by narcotic police in Famagusta.

Famagusta narcotic police have increased their operations in the region order to prevent the use of drugs among young people.

Police said as a result of the raid on 3 houses in the region, 10 thousand TL cash obtained from drug use, 3 sensitive scales with drug residue used in drug weighing and a total of 1 kg 20 grams of cannabis type drug in many packages ready for sale were confiscated.

Two students arrested in the act were brought before Judge Mesut Mesuto─člu at the Famagusta District Court on Sunday where a 3-day arrest warrant was issued against them.

The police, who took the two suspects to the court separately on Sunday, stated that one of them, who was found with about 20 grams of cannabis in packs and about 10 thousand TL cash, admitted that he got the money from the drugs he sold to people whose names he did not know.

The second suspect said he received the drug from a person at Ercan Airport.

The police also went after a person whom they believed was connected to the issue.
