27 New cases of coronavirus and 2 deaths reported in TRNC on Sunday, 21 are local casesy

27 new cases of Covid-19 and 2 deaths were reported in Northern Cyprus on Sunday, which brings the total number of cases there so far to 2,039 and 14 deaths.

1,740 tests were carried out in the last 24 hours and 27 new cases were confirmed.

6 of the cases came in contact with previous cases who are under surveillance, and 21 were local cases.

Of the cases, 7 were from Lefkosa, 19 from Kyrenia, and 1 from Güzelyurt Region.

They have started receiving treatment at the State Hospital Quarantine Service in Lefkosa.

Two people, a 56-year-old man and a 40-year-old man died from the virus on Sunday. 

According to Minister of Health, Ali Pilli, 56-year-old Mehmet Ali Kahvecioğlu had aortic dissection disorder, while Salih Çarka, 40, had no chronic disease. Pilli offered his condolences to all those who lost their lives and all their family and loved ones.

14 people were discharged from the hospital after completing treatment.
