Student working in car-wash steals 23,000 TL from car, bought sweatpants with the money

A student who stole a total of 23,000 Turkish Lira from a car in Famagusta has been released on bail and to face trial in the future.

The suspect, a 33-year-old Master student from Cameroon, reportedly committed the crime on January, 5th at a car wash in Famagusta where he works as a part time staff.

Police said the suspect was washing the luxury car when he stole 23,000TL in cash kept in the glove compartment. The incident was reported to the police on January 7 which led to his arrest.

Police in its report said the suspect bought a pair of sweatpants with the money while 21 thousand TL was recovered from him.

He was taken to a court in Famagusta in Tuesday and released on bail with a cash guarantee of 5 thousand TL and to face trail in the future.
