Cavani not happy at Manchester United, wants to leave

Edinson Cavani is ready to leave Manchester United and join Boca Juniors, the player's father claimed on Tuesday.

Cavani's contract expires in June and United have been keen to discuss his future.

The 34-year-old was fined £100,000 by the FA for the use of 'negrito' in a social media post earlier in the season and wants to head back to South America.

The episode is said to have left him feeling that he was unfairly treated by the FA, with his father revealing that his time in England will likely come to an end.

My son does not feel comfortable in England and wants to be close to the family again, Luis Cavani told TyC Sports.
Edinson had many conversations with [Juan Roman] Riquelme and he would like to play for Boca. He was always seduced by the idea of playing in Boca. If he returns to South America he is leaning towards Boca. By the middle of the year he will return to South America. My son's idea is not to continue there. He wants to return.

Upon hearing reports that he wanted to leave, United are keen to hold talks with Cavani over his future.

The veteran striker signed a short-term contract until the end of the season worth £9million when he arrived at Old Trafford as a free agent on deadline day in October.

It has the option of a 12-month extension which has to be agreed by both parties, and United were planning talks with Cavani and Walter Guglielmone, his agent and brother, before Monday's developments.

The club are said to be keen to keep the former Paris Saint-Germain and Napoli player next season, but Cavani has yet to commit and is understood to want assurances over his role.

Speaking last month, manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer said: 'I can only say Edinson has done well. We'll sit down and speak with him in the near future to see his plans and our plans.'

Cavani has scored seven goals in 25 appearances for United but missed a number of games.

He didn't make his debut for nearly three weeks after joining the club and has been absent for five of the last six matches due to muscle injuries.

The Uruguayan is friends with Boca president Juan Roman Riquelme and revealed in October that they have spoken about a move to the Argentine club this summer.

Boca is a giant of the world, any player would love to play for them, said Cavani.
There are some secrets from the talk with Roman, you have to ask him if he wants to tell them. We will see what happens in the future.
