TRNC to receive 40,000 doses of COVID-19 vaccines from Turkey this week
About 40,000 doses of COVID-19 vaccines will be delivered to the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus this week, Health Minister Ünal Üstel has announced.
Speaking to local media, Üstel said that he had spoken with his Turkish counterpart Fahrettin Koca who had informed him that a new shipment of vaccines, 40,000 doses in total will be delivered to the TRNC later this week.
He added that the vaccines will be administered according to the new vaccination programme and online registration portal with chronic patients to be given priority.
Üstel said that the goal was to vaccinate the whole population.
The latest shipment will bring the total number of vaccines donated by Turkey to 140,000.
