TRNC government announces revised measures, extend night time curfew for another week, permit inter city travel

The government of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus on Friday announced a revised coronavirus measures extending night time curfew by one week until April, 12 and removing inter city travel restrictions. 

The new decisions announced by Prime Minister Ersin Sarner after a meeting of the Council of Ministers on Friday is in line with the new decisions taken by the Higher Committee for Infectious Diseases under the Infectious Diseases Law.

By the new decisions, night time will be between 10:00pm and 5:00am every day of the week except on Sundays, when a total lockdown will be imposed. 
 
- On Sundays, all businesses and activities will be closed, except for pharmacies, bakeries, gas stations and agriculture, animal husbandry and related industrial enterprises.  
 
- On Monday to Saturday; Markets will open between 7:00am and 9:00pm. 
 
-Retail and merchandising services, restaurants and all services / sectors that are not specified as closed will open between 10:00am and 9:00pm.  
 
-Restaurants, patisseries, cafes and taverns will be able to maintain their outdoor seating functions in addition to delivery services. 
 
-Travel restrictions between districts and controlled transition between districts has been lifted. Public transportation between districts are now permitted. Transportation vehicles will operate at 50% capacity, will not be able to take passengers close to the driver and must leave a seat behind the driver empty.

-Public institutions and organizations will switch to normal working order.

- Employees of barbers, hairdressers, beauty salons and tattooists will have 1 PCR test every 14 days.

- Employees of internet cafes have until April, 7 to complete the PCR tests, and start serving on April 8 in accordance with the decision of the Supreme Committee.

- Libraries will be opened on April 5th.

Closed Places

- Movie theaters, engagement-wedding halls, birthdays, mevlids, casinos, bars, taverns, hookah cafes and halls, all kinds of game halls, indoor playgrounds, massage rooms, spa, open buffet restaurants, night clubs, club , baths, saunas.
