Turkey to begin administering Russian Sputnik V vaccine soon
Turkey will begin administering Russia’s Sputnik V vaccine soon, Turkey's Health Minister Fahrettin Koca said on Thursday, April 22.
“We are using two types of vaccines [Sinovac and Pfizer/BioNtech], but we are working on increasing the numbers,” Koca said after a Science Board meeting.
Koca also informed that Turkey will start the phase 3 trials of a local vaccine currently being developed.
According to the minister, the coronavirus infection rate in Turkey has dropped nationwide and that a new strain of COVID-19 determined in India has not yet been found in Turkey.
